Renovate The Daw Theater Efforts are now underway to find a realistic business model to re-establish the DAW Theater as a functioning cultural entity. We are actively seeking expertise and contributions to make this renovation a success.
Beale Sanctuary The Main Street Program Committee is currently providing strategic consulting, working with the county to help create the Essex County Arts Center, a countywide arts organization dedicated to the production, presentation, and education of the arts. The structure is the former home of the Beale Memorial Baptist Church, and is a colonial era courthouse, purchased by the county in 2007. Housed within the Beale Sanctuary, a 6,000 square foot brick building, are a stage, backstage storage areas, and classrooms. Through diverse programming within a full performing arts facility, the Center will promote and program a wide range of performing and artistic work, while educating and encouraging the public to participate in the arts.
