The Tappahannock Farmers’ Market has been an important part of our community for the past 14 years. This volunteer led and sponsor supported event allows us to showcase the produce, seafood, wines, homemade food items and baked goods of Tappahannock and Essex County, as well as many handcrafted arts and collectibles.   

Over the last two seasons TFM welcomed a significant increase in vendor participation, growing from 60 fulltime vendors in 2020 to 90 in 2021. This year we are on target to host 110 vendors, making our market the largest community farmers’ market in the region. Last year we had an estimated monthly visitor attendance of 1,200 per market, and we expect attendance to increase to 1,500 in 2023.  

These successes would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors. Throughout the year we recognize our sponsors in many ways including newspaper ads, community posters, market maps, and onsite banners. We also mention our sponsors in monthly radio advertisements and during live onsite event broadcasting on WRAR, WNNT, and Hot Mix VA. Last year, in addition to recognition on our website, we focused heavily on social media recognition and increased our social media following from 6,000 to 8,500 in one season. This year we plan to maximize this opportunity and are striving to gain a following of 10,000. We also offer the opportunity for sponsors to attend the market at their reserved sponsor booth space, a perk included with all sponsor levels (Platinum $1,000; Gold $500; Silver $300). Enclosed is more detailed information about our sponsorship levels and the benefits of each.  Platinum Sponsor $1000
