INTRODUCTION

Why "Main Street"?
There is much that is already right about Tappahannock: its marvelous history, its charm, its small town ethic, yet there is a groundswell of opinion that we need to preserve these features and find opportunities for leveraging the other assets the community has such as the river, and enhancing and adding opportunities for businesses and amenities that will be attractive to residents, such as more public greenspace.

To that end, a group of local interested individuals have come together to explore the means to accomplish these goals.

Scope
Through several meetings and community discussion it has been decided that the geographic boundaries of the Main Street effort will encompass the area from "Creek to Creek"--that is, from Hoskins Creek to the June Parker Marina.

Phase 1 will focus on the area that comprises the original 50 acre grant.
